Born 1947 in the United Kingdom
Migrated to Australia in 1960

Allan enlisted in the ARA in 1964 and was allotted to RASigs where he qualified as a Operator Radio and Keyboard.

He served in South Vietnam with 103 Signal Squadron 1966-67, then posted to 660 Signal Troop, 126 Signal Squadron (Special Forces) in 1967.

In 1970 Sgt Joyce was seconded to the Dept of Foreign Affairs for 9 months service with the Australian Embassy, Cambodia as the Assistant to the Military Attache.

In 1975 Sgt Joyce resigned from the ARA and immediately enlisted in the Army Reserve, being promoted to WO2. Shortly after WO2 Joyce undertook officer training at OCTU.

In 1977 Lt Joyce returned to the Squadron where he took up the position of Troop Commander, Training Troop untill in 1981 he left the Squadron and transferred to B Coy 1 Royal Victorian Regiment as a Platoon Commander.

Throughout his time at 126 Signal Squadron Allan Joyce was a tough and uncompromising professional soldier who set high personal standards and motivated soldiers under his command to do likewise.

As at 2004 Allan Joyce runs his own company where he provides advice and training in combating internal fraud and conducting fraud investigations.
